About

Ken MossThis blog represents the random musings of Ken Moss.  Ken spent 20 years and 4 days working at Microsoft.  He  has worked primarily on Microsoft Excel, MSN and Live Search (a.k.a. MSN Search, a.k.a  Windows Live Search).

Most people ignore him for his work on creating Pivot Tables in Excel — but some people want to give him a hug.  His work in creating the Live Search team from scratch and leading the team to create a large scale search engine was really fun and challenging.  By sponsoring the work on projects core to running giant data centers and web services very cheaply, his team helped create the foundation not just for Live Search, but also for Windows Azure.  He is fond of customer-driven and data-driven development projects — both large and small.

Since leaving Microsoft last year, Ken has been working with his wife on an incubation project that hopefully will turn into a cool new business soon.  He has returned to his roots of programming full-time in this early stage of the company and is enjoying it tremendously.
